That had been the listing in the phone book anyways, other then Morris there where no other Strubs residing in Silent Hill so this must be the place.
The house has a huge yard and the only thing separating it from the lake is the road. Silent Hill makes a massive halo around the lake like in a picture of an angel, this area has a lot of nice houses and cottages and makes up the middles of the Halo.
The Strub home is a massive Victorian house, it's colours are white and gray save the wood finishing which is all done in a dark red mahogany, There are three separate triangles made by the roof where it peeks in three seperate places.
the center one has a circle of dark mahogany the top have is surrounded by interesting wood work covering the front of a small deck over the front pourch.
The front Pourch has it's own peek and below an archway more wood work at the top of the arch. The proch travels off to the side and wraps around the side of the house.
A Circlar tower is above the side the porch wraps around.
The septs to the front have two arching rails the go to the front again in the dark red wood with angels carved in them.
The front door itself is made of more of the red wood set in the snow white like blood dripped on snow. It has carved in it three massive cirles and sits below stain glass of a rising sun.
Morris after leaving the Orphanage must have hit the Orphan jackpot, Morris had comes to see Sawyer in the hospital after his adoption and right before Sawyer had been adopted.
He had brought with him flowers white and red and that blonde women who wore a suit and looked a little like she had eaten something sower. She ultimately been polite and purchased hot cholcate for both of you.

"Sweet Mary, Joeseph, and whoever else I forgot to read about." I said looking at the Strub house. Sure my adopted parents were well off, but not Victorian well off. we were more... build your own house and call it good well off. But Jimminy Crickets...
I step up towards the door. Wow, it does look nice. I knock on it a few times. I look across the porch to see if they were the put up creepy statues, potted plant, or just plain kind of people.
There is a moment and then she comes to the door her hair is shorter and her dark eyes are hidden behind glasses, she will smile a little when she see Sawyer but it's a sad smile.
"Can I help you?" She will ask in a curious slightly suspicious tone, She looks like maybe she drifted off to sleep and has the same strange ring with the same mark her husband wore.
*memo to self, ask about ring if subject can come up* I think to myself. I smile my charming grin to show her I'm friendly, "Hi, is this the Strub residence? I'm Sawyer Glass, I heard about Morris." Maybe it wasn't a good idea to go straight for that hook in, but meh, why not? I've never been the type to wait.
"You know my son?" She uses the president tense implying she believe him to still be alive, she opens the door, she has in her one hand an old red leather book, "Come in please one moment." The women hurries off to the living room.
If Sawyer follows he sees her locking the book in a little drawer and locking it with a key she places in her pocket.
The inside of the house itself is very nice, family photos line the hallway, however they are all studio portraits, despite this none of the smiles seem forced.
There is Morris and the Strubs shortly after his adoption all the way up to what must be present day with his own family a wife and two kids, however the women who must be Mrs. Strub's daughter in law has a flower sticker over her face in all picture.
Mrs. Strub looks over at Sawyer if he stayed by the front door she comes and gets him, "Won't you come and sit down?" She asks politely.
I walk down the hall, looking at the pictures. "He really grew up well didn't he?" Then I see the stickers and grin, sounds like divorce or infidelity. I cough, "oh yeah, sure sorry, you must think I have horrible manners."
"I'm sorry if I might've gotten your hopes up. Morris and I went to the same orphanage." I tap my temple in thought, "if memory serves you and he both have visited me in the hospital." I laughed a little trying to cheer the mood, "The nurses said I attended the surgery ward almost like it was mass."
"I was wondering if you knew anyone Morris was talking to or about before he disappeared?"
"I like to think he did Morris when he was a child was very sweet. Troubled but sweet." She will seat herself, the couch is gray however there are green plants in the living room off setting the grim colour, the gray just makes the ferns seem so much more green.
"I recall being in the hospital me and Morris picked up the flowers together... I recall." Mrs. Strub will press her lips together and cover her eyes with her hand.
"He spoke to Viveca he always spoke to Viveca and Lizzy... Oh my poor son...forgive me Morris." She says and makes a sniffling sound.
I stretched out my hand to comfort her, "I know this is hard for you, Mrs. Strub, but I'm trying to find what happened to Morris. I think he was investigating the orphanage massacre and found out something he wasn't suppose to. Now do you know how I can get a hold of Viveca and Lizzy?"
"You don't understand, I've always been a sinner wanted more, more then I deserved and now Morris has been taken for my sins." She says and picks up some tissue and blows her noise.
She seems to regain herself after a moment. "Liz would be at work she was one of the Editors at the paper Morris worked at and.. I think Viveca is at home."
She reaches forwards and picks up and old children's book from the coffee table. it's so old the cover is faded and it;s bound with cloth, "Would you,.. take this away I use to read it to Morris when he was little would you take it with you?"
She asks seems that she's regained herself a little.
I smiled and shook my head, "With all due respect Mrs. Strub, if I've learned anything, it's we all pay for our own sins. I'm sure Morris is okay. I promise I'll bring him home safely." hmm, that sounded like it'd be good for a war movie...
"Can I get uh, Mz. Liz and Mz. Viveca's numbers and maybe last names? I'm not use to everyone around here so calling people by their first name might seem a little too friendly."
I look down at the book "Of course. anything I can do to help." I take the book from her and scan it to see which book it is.
"Oh Well I think that Viveca's mother was saying she came home recently so she's in town, She's Sheriff Moody's oldest, She would have been at the same Orphanage as you. Liz is Elizabeth Hanford, Let me get my address book..." She trails off a little bit and gets up to go look.
The books is a picture book with old place black and white illistration over someone has lovingly coloured them in with care and water colours.
The Perfect House is the name of the story.
Once upon a time everyone in the world was in the dark and the cold it was very sad.
God heard that the people where sad and came to help them.
God decided to build everyone in the world a wonderful house a perfect house that everyone could be happy in.
God started to work on this perfect house however God became tired and had to go back to sleep.
Before God went to sleep God told everyone that she would come back and would finish the house, until then God wanted the people to look after the house.
No one should stay sad for long because we all live in God's perfect house waiting for God to wake up and finish the perfect house.
"Take your time." I said, smiling softly. THen I start reading the through the pages. hmm... seems like a normal religous- wait a minute. God isn't a she. last I checked God was a He and a Him. or more of an I AM anyways...
That's probably why it's not big on the mainstream. Something pings in the back of my head, "Oh, I almost forgot Mrs Strub, your ring I wanted to ask you about that design. I noticed your husband had the same one."
"Oh dear you haven't been back in the town for a very long time have you." Mrs. Strub says re-entering with a leather bound address book, which she places on her lap. "It's the Halo of the Sun."
She says and watches the lack of recognition, "Alright It's an old Seal like the Seals of Solomon and it is very popular in the town it represent things being in proper balance."
"The eye ate the top repercents God, and the figure at the bottom with the pitchfork repercents the Devil. The scales are Order and the symbol on the other side is Chaos. The Crown in the center is the rule of god and the Circles themselves are The past the present and the future. It's a symbol of re-birth and eternity." She says holding the ring out.
"There is a certain amount of Native American Influence you know this whole town is built on secret ground" This is obviously a topic she knows a lot about then again her husband is in charge of the local font of knowledge on the history of the town.
I quirked my eyebrows "I see. those don't look native american though. what's that writing on the big circle there say?" Frankly I didn't believe in much of an afterlife. I mean if there was one it wasn't clouds and it wasn't fire and brimstone. Honestly I'd always pictured things like a big gas station in the middle of nowhere and God's some guy serving drinks at the bar and the devil is the snobby drunk chick singing Celene Dion off key. oh wait, that drunk chick is my ex.
"Oh well that's on the top right is Sun on the top left it says Moon, the bottom right says Earth and the word on the bottom left means spirit world though I am simplifying a bit."
She seems thoughtful. "Actually the top right more accurately translates to Eye of Day and the top left Eye of Night. " She seems to be happy to have someone to talk to her about something she's knowledgeable about.
"Here let me write down those numbers for you, I think that Liz will still be at Work, her and Morris work for the Silent Hill Chronicle. Did I already say that?"
"hmm? Oh yeah, you did, but it's alright." I laughed like it was nothing, "after what you've been going through I understand completely."
"So Morris went into journalism? not suprising, really. He was the one who always told everyone how I'd gotten hurt this time. except he'd tellt hem all that I'd flown fourty feet or went through two walls or soemthing like that." I smiled at the memory.
"Oh that sounds like my boy when he first started living with us." She frowns deeply and presses her lips together, "He was taught to lie when he was very young, I suppose those that isn't something he'd want me telling people about."
She lets out a little laugh, "He went to school in Boston we where so proud." She will open the address book and record some phone numbers for him.
(844) 889-5920 - Moody House Hold (844) 308-9725 - Hanfords House Hold (844) 249-1695 Extension 302 - Silent Hill Chronicle Elizabeth Hanford Editor
"Thanks Mrs. Strub. Is there anything I can do for you?" I probably need to shut my mouth right about now, she still seems broken up about it and I don't wanna keep bringing up memories.
"Boston, really? I got offered to go to school in boston, but I decided to go to hollywood and try a crack at fame. maybe you've seen a few of my movies?" I think I'm going to try Liz first.
"I'm sorry I don't watch a lot of films what have you been in?" She asks in a curious tone, "Oh what can you do for me? You can take care of yourself and visit me again while you're here."
"He called his first day and told Vivi I'm in Boston, of course he called from an old pay phone just off campus and a gentleman without a home knocked on the phone booth and says 'why are you in my office.' Morris says into the phone, Oh Lord I'm in Boston!"
She will start to laugh a little but the laughter will turn to tears.
I put another supportive hand on her shoulder, not knowing her well enough to do much else. "He'll come back home. I promise."
"I was in that boxing movie, "Golden Gloves" about a cincinatti boxer who quit his job to become a navy boxer. kinda based on a true story." I said, "I was also in young guns and a few Segal movies."
"Thank you Sawyer, here let me give you something." She says after she's had a moment to calm down. She goes to a cabinet with a lot of old plates there are some small statues of saints with gold metallic halos, flat gold rings, one with red robes one with yellow robes and a third with white robes.
She will take a small jewelery box and walk back over to Sawyer. "you are from Silent Hill this is part of your heritage too."
"Oh no, you don't have to give me anything, really." I said. I've never really been one for charity. I mean, sure I'm an actor and acting is all based on who you know and favors and a few hand outs of going out on a limb. and occationally when buisness gets slow, you might see me volunteer at a soup kitchen just so I can bring some home with me, but seriously, I'm not a charity case.
statues of holy figures always seemed sacreligous to me, though I'll never say that outloud. It jsut brings up that story in the bible where Moses went on that mountain and Erin or Aaron made that cow of gold that everybody loved then God sent a bolt of lightning and vaporized all opposition. that kind of childhood story tend to turn me off of any statues.
"Oh no it's your heritage too, it's a pendent of the Halo of the Sun." She will wait for him to take the box, "If nothing else you can alway return it to me when you bring Morris home." She says and looks at him with serious eyes.
wow, that look in her eyes tells me that this is one offer I shouldn't refuse. 'the patience of a grieving woman is not to be tested' the letters from an old 50's movie poster rang out in my head. I can't remeber the name, something about a woman loses her husband in a mob killing and she seeks justice through the courts but when they take too long she hires omeone to kidnap them and bring each thug to her home where she chops them up with a butcher knife. A cutco butcher knife if I remember right. the movie was black listed for the graphic content (which was panning away from any real blood or gore). IT was a flop for the most part due to the darker theme which nowadays would be a hit. I don't know why no one has I'm sure it'd do great now.
okay back on task. "wow, thanks." I said

"THanks again Mrs. Strubb, for everything." I said, standing, "but I'm sure it's about time for me to leave, I've got work to do." I pulled out my phone to indicate I was about to get the ball rolling. memo to self: find soemone you know will be there as you go along. Morris forgot this and look what happened to him. Response: Morris didn't have this shiny amulet. response to response: that's silly, those things don't work, their just for superstition. Tri-response: better safe than sorry.
damn, I got me there. If there are no objections to my leaving, I will exit to the front porch and dial (844) 249-1695 Extension 302 - Silent Hill Chronicle Elizabeth Hanford Editor and wait for a response
The phone rings for a bit and then the phone is picked up and a women says, "Hello you've reached Mrs. Hanford Editor of the Silent Hill Chronicle how may I help you?" She asks you can hear the sound of typing in the background she must be working on something else while talking to you.
"Mrs. Hansford? This is Sawyer Glass, I'd like to ask you a few questions about Morris Strub, if you wouldn't mind." I wondered if she was the type of person who'd know me. doubtful she's seen my movies, but I can admit that most of my fans on my website (www.sawyerglass.com) are either journalist or in that related field. probably because they're the only ones who actually read the credits.
"I know that name..." She says as if thinking about it, "What do you want to know? No one has seem Morris in awhile you an old friend?" She asks curiously.
"Yeah, Morris and I lived in the same orphanage a while back. His disappearance is actually why I called. can you tell me what he was working on before he left? I think the two might be connected."
"I'm not completely sure, he was speaking to my husband about his work a lot before he vanished, Mr. Hanford should be here around lunch if you'd like to come over to the Chronicle and speak to him."
