"Non-indians." Frank said dryly. "It isn't a particularly nice term for y'all immigrants but thats what it is." he glanced around, looking for ghost. "I have another key for the safe downstairs... but i can't seem to find one more medal."
Frank shows him the medal. "There are 3 holes. I already inserted one medal. Need one more."
"I don't think the things walking around here are human, white or other wise." Morris will say a little dryly. "Well I know there are medals in the garage thing, we've got the best equipped Fire station for miles." Morris shrugs.
"Before the europeans settled here, though, my grandfather said our people came here and spoke to the spirits - and so far... i haven't seen any that a shaman would *want* to talk to - they're all spirits of urban decay, hate, passion without emotion."
"I interview people I don't want to talk to all the time. However I think enough of this for now I'm going to be smart and listen to what you want me to do." Morris has a look on his face like he's trying not to joke but he's nervous and afraid he's trying not to joke but joking is what's keeping him from screaming.
"Maybe you're here to talk to me." Frank smiled. "But let me try one more time to get Ghost and we'll leave - there was an address on his tag - we'll try the garage again for the medal and if we don't find it, maybe its there. got no other ideas right now."
he tells him about the bugs and how he was herding them rather than just mashing htem. faster and safer, he thinks.
"Uhg....ewww." Morris says when the bugs are mentioned, "I've run into more of those there in a lot of the buildings I ended up killing them they make this shriek like Fay Ray and uhg.. it's like they're made of brittle bone blood and flesh instead of normal bug stuff."
"Okay well Ghost the original lived in Old Silent Hill."
"I got the address. we'll have a look. Got you some porn too." Frank waggles the titty magazines at him. "Lets finish up this room and head for the garage."
and so htey shall. assuming they find nothing else.
"There we go. Okay, ready for the bugs? fire extinguisher holds them back but not much else." He hops down with his medal. (he would have looked the place over, too, to see if there was anything else of interest on that shelf.)
"Why don't I hit them with my big pipe it seems to work pretty well for most thing I've encountered." Morris says holding up the pipe and looking over at Frank. Then he nods to the pipe and then the door.
"Whatever works is good. I'll keep the extinguisher in reserve for if we get swarmed. Keep your eyes peeled for more of them. Okay, you're up to bat." Frank carefully got ready and then opened the door and jumped back, ready to mash any that Morris misses.
Morris will nod and go in swinging he has no mercy for the bugs which scream and howl he will then stomp on them they let out a cry like Fey Ray as his boot turns them into a paste of flesh blood and bone.
Frank carefully finishes off the strays and stragglers while Morris gets the concentration of the swarm, and covers Morris so he doesn't get any 'sneaking' on him - crawling up his legs or whatever. "Yech."
"There's a key in this safe, i think. to the ...tunnels, access tunnels? we might be able to clear those and keep them clear, make a safe spot to retreat to and make our way around."
"Okay." Morris will watch Frank as he plays around with the safe.
Behind the picture is the strangest Wall Safe ever, it had a handle in the little and three indentations they seem to be about the size and shape of the Medallion, the one that Frank has is two circles with the word Steadfast in the enter.
Engraved on the safe is "1 + (-1) = 0, 0 = Open)
the top hole says Unreliable to the right the hole says Traitorous and the hole on the left is marked Unchivalrous.
The three symbols in the safe turn and then there's a clicking sound and the safe will click open and inside is a ring of keys and a Tarot Card labeled "The Soldier" however the imagery in the card is weird he looks like a far more modern solider then one of the time period.
"Huh." he takes the keys and examines the card, front and back, then shows it to Morris. "I don't know much about this kind of thing - Wasichu magic isn't so much my thing."
"I'm normally just the reporter but let me take a look." Morris will take the card and look it over, "Looks like a Tarot card looks old but it's weird because the guy in the drawing looks modern... Normally these cards have known meanings and messages stand for people or evens, but I've never heard of the soldier before."
"I don't' think thats a standard card, no. I only know about them at all because my wife was a little into it and she got these totem cards to go with her regular tarot. Mostly bunk but ... kinda softened up for modern culture, i guess. Look like anyone you know?"
"No sorry, No One I can think of." Morris says with a frown, "So do you still want to go to the Hardware store?" He will ask looking at Frank, "or do we have a new direction?"
"You mean the fire tunnels? I think that we should head to the hall of records." Morris frowns a little, "It's in Central Silent Hill we need to head for Koontz St. It's a fair jog. If there are maps of the tunnels they will be there."
"Oh, hooray, another detour. Well, screw the tunnels then, lets head to the hall of records. See, if we wanted to use the tunnels to try to avoid the monsters, having a big ol stroll down one of the main drags in town kinda defeats the purpose. But you wanted to get there anyway, didn't you?"
"I really have a doubting feeling that the tunnels go under South Vale." Morris will say and looks thoughtful, "All of South Vale was built after the Tourist industry got really bit, any old tunnels would most likely be under Central Silent Hill. Old Silent Hill is mostly residential."
Morris covers his hand and coughs, "I was adopted by the guy who's currently directly of the Silent Hill Historical Society no one knows the town history better."
"I've got no real direction, Morris. Other than getting some food that doesn't suck, I'm at loose ends. I feel like i should check out the cat's home address, but other than that - i've no real direction - except to help you. Tell me what would help you and lets do that."
"Okay well then why don't we set out for the cat's house we can raid the fridge, and if that is Ghosty Ghost I am pretty sure I know where he keeps the good food." Morris smirks a little. "Shall we?"
Frank nodded and started to the garage ...then decided instead to check the keys to see if any of them would let them out through a regular door. got keys - why not try them?
